A Baby Sip-n-See Shower

It is great having friends live in other parts of the country, but it can also make it hard to help celebrate and throw parties for their life events. Recently, one of my best friends had her first baby, a sweet little boy named Parker. My friends and I wanted to throw her a shower, but we selfishly also wanted to be able to meet him when he arrived - so we put our heads together and decided to throw a sip-n-see instead. We waited about 2 months after he was born and the busy holiday season. We invited people in her area to stop by on a Saturday afternoon to meet the baby, see the parents and have a drink and/or treats. This is going on well over eight events planned from a far, with hostesses across the map too - we highly recommend using Google Hangouts to plan, and you get to see your friends.

Below are all the details and highlights from the event. His nursery is decorated in blues and orange, so we kept that color scheme through out, with a dash of grey to accent. You may remember the DIY Strawburst wreath I did prior to going or for instructions go here. It made it on the plane with me and only had one small fix when I arrived - nothing a glue gun couldn't handle.

Name banner made from scrapbooking paper and twine
Extra straws from the wreath were great for drinks!
All food, drink and accessories had orange or blue - including the signature drink - Parents Punch
Guestbook and sanitization station when you first enter the party
Stamp your thumbprint to sign the guestbook
The wreath hung nicely in front of the treat table

I will have more posts on the invitations and guestbook. We really love Etsy for all the paper additions - it is a great place to get your hands on quality designers, with creative ideas and an even better price. Stay tuned!

Au revoir,
Jamie
