Happy Thanksgiving

Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving with your friends, family and loved ones. We found this great print last year at one of our favorite blogs. This would look fabulous in a picture frame greeting your guests when they arrive. Go to their blog eighteen25 to download a copy!

Enjoy your turkey day, and while you are at it - go ahead and unbutton your pants!

Home Decor: Bar Print.

A few weeks ago, I posted about wanting to purchase a print for my husband's bar area on top of our buffet cabinet. He has a growing collection of decanters and needs some more manly decorations in the house. After researching different prints and paintings, I decided I could put my art classes and creative side into good use. I just needed some inspiration.

Here's how it turned out:

Here's how to do it:

  • Supplies: white canvas from Hobby Lobby, thin paint brush, pencil, nice black paint and some inspiration.
  • How I did it: I sketched a few options on paper before I began on the canvas. Then, I drew it on with a pencil and slowly painted over it. I kept working on the mustache and finally got it to where I like it.
Do you like the manly print? I am thinking about adding two small bow tie prints to hang beside the mustache print. What do you think?

Favorite Thing: Pop Doggie Artwork

Pop Doggie is a shop on Etsy where you can purchase dog breed magnets, dog art and custom dog prints. I recently purchased a Stanley (our black labradoodle) print. It hangs proudly over his dog bowl and leash.

Be sure to check out Pop Doggie's Etsy site and their facebook page. I love their artistic take on the funny things our dogs do.

Here are some of my favorites:

Home Inspiration: Bar Print.

When we moved in to our home three years ago, our in-laws purchased us a dining room table for a Christmas present and we purchased the matching hutch. We use the hutch to house our serving dishes, placemats and bottles of liquor.

My husband started collecting decanters after our wedding and loves to serve scotch to our friends. On top of the hutch, I have placed his decanters for ease of use as well as decoration. He now uses this as his own bar station when we have parties.

I decided that we need something to hang above the hutch. I knew I wanted it to be something that represented my husband and it needed to be manly. One of my friend recently purchased a print with a mustache and a top hat - I was in love. Here are my top favorites from Etsy.

Which one do you think I should purchase?
